The Beginning

6/21/25

Hello :3

Welcome to Pitchfurk. This website is currently under construction. The vision for this website is to be my personal repository and shrine to furry music. I am a furry musician myself, and have been watching this scene from the outside for a long time (it is likely that Renard is the only reason I identify as one in the first place).

Today is 6/21 (har har). My original vision for today was to open the website to the public with multiple articles. I had a list ready of what I consider to be the "essential" artists of furry music, the heavy hitters that continue to influence artists in the scene. This was a bad approach. To make another Renard reference... it was an Unrealistic Project Roadmap.

For one, it was leaning too hard on quantity, when what I think this website needs is quality. I wanna have the opportunity to really check my work and present something that isn't just repeating what other websites say already. I have some background as a (very terminally online) freelance journalist. I imagined some articles could be "quick" and short stubs. I think our artists deserve better. Also, I feel like it would be a better approach for readers to have consistent article uploads here rather than trying to drop a massive trove at once. Additionally, I am a lazy failboy and I keep taking downers and falling asleep.

What I'm uploading here today is an example of the general layout of the site and what the pages will look like. This is also an opportunity to lay out my vision for the site, and explain how I want to run it. Within the week, you will see a template example page to help accomplish this. You might get a feel for my vision by reading the Q&A page. I will also be adding my To-Do List, and my Information Wanted page. Perhaps you have "ball knowledge", and can help contribute to the historical record of this often-maligned and ignored scene.

This website will serve many purposes. I envision a world where people who might not know anything about furry music will encounter these pages. Maybe people who are not themselves in the fandom will find this, and it will change some perceptions. I want to create the definitive reference material for who the important artists in furry are, what they did and why they matter and why people should listen. Stick with me, or, don't touch that dial. I will return soon with content of a standard that this scene deserves, and that you deserve as a reader.

Our first three articles, my most complete works, will appear here soon. They will be about electronic musician em essex (known for solo record labels HALLEY LABS and LapFox Trax, and the aforementioned breakcore persona Renard), Crash Blossoms (a hip hop-leaning multigenre collective active from 2020 to 2024), and Pepper Coyote (a singer-songwriter, member of bands Look Left and Foxes and Peppers, and the creator of the perpetually memed No Cock Like Horse Cock).

Thank you for joining me on this journey.
